5th of November

5th of November

I am more than you could comprehend thankful for animals. Now I know most of you are like "oh no this crazy cat lady is once again talking about her animals!" But really I love them so much.

Work is hard and sometimes so frickin' stressful! But when I arrive home there are (at the moment) four little buggers who greet me everyday no matter what.

I love opening the door and my three kittens come running, all wanting attention and purring so loud I swear the neighbors could hear.

Cats are so stubborn and rebellious but when they give you love, you melt from the inside out!! They even melt the stress, anger, and frustration away.

Those who don't like or understand animals/pets are missing something tremendously amazing. Give them a chance and I promise they will snuggle into your hearts.

"The Unicorn" by Shel Silverstein

A long time ago when the earth was green
And there was more kinds of animals than you've ever seen,
And they run around free while the earth was bein' born
And the loveliest of all was the Unicorn.
There was green alligators and long-necked geese.
There was humpy bumpy camels and chimpanzees.
There was catsandratsandelephants, but sure as you're born
The loveliest of all was the Unicorn.
But the Lord seen some sinnin', and it caused him pain.
He says, "Stand back, I'm gonna make it rain."
He says, "Hey brother Noah, I'll tell you watcha do
Go and build me a floatin' zoo.
And you take two alligators, and a couple of geese,
Two humpy bumpy camels and two chimpanzees.
Take twocatsandratsandelephants, but sure as you're born,
Noah, don't you forget my Unicorn."
Now Noah was there and he answered the callin',
And he finished up the ark just as the rain started fallin'.
He marched in the animals two by two,
And he called out as they went through,
"Hey Lord, I got your two alligators and your couple of geese,
Your humpy bumpy camels and your two chimpanzees.
Got your catsandratsandelephants, but Lord I'm so forlorn
Cause I just don't see no Unicorn."
Ol' Noah looked out through the drivin' rain,
But the Unicorns were hidin' playin' silly games.
They were kickin' and splashin' in the misty morn,
Oh them silly Unicorn.
Then the goat started goatin' and the snake started snakin',
The elephant started elephantin' and the boat started shakin'
The mouse started squeekin' and the lion started roarin'',
And everyone's aboard but the Unicorn.
I mean the green alligators and the long-neck geese,
The humpy bumpy camels and the chimpanzees.
Noah cried, "Close the door, 'cause the rain is pourin' -
And we just can't wait for them Unicorn."
Then the Ark started movin', and it drifted with the tide,
And the Unicorns looked up from the rock and cried.
And the water came up and sort of floated them away -
That's why you've never seen a Unicorn to this day.
You'll see a lot of alligators and a whole mess of geese.
You'll see humpy bumpy camels and lots of chimpanzees.
You'll see catsandratsandelephants, but sure as you're born
You're never gonna see no Unicorn.

4th of November

I am thankful to be an American! I am so grateful to live in this beautiful country. To think that other countries don't have the same freedoms that we have every day. Some don't have the freedom of speech. Some don't have freedom of religion. Some don't have even some of the simple pleasures we enjoy.

Stand Proud Stand Tall
By Ron Tranmer

The flag of our nation, a flag under God.
To our flag we will always be true.
Stand proud, stand tall with hand over heart,
as we honor the red, white, and blue.

A symbol of freedom. A banner for all
o reside underneath it’s proud wave.
Though battered and torn, shattered and worn,
It flies, o’er the home of the brave.

Stand proud, stand tall, with hand over heart,
with respect for this flag we so love.
May this land always be, strong and free,
and protected by God from above.

We are a proud nation. One under God.
It was He who gave us this land.
Free we remain, to praise His great name.
Rise up, and for God make a stand.

Our flag has flown high over battlefields.
Covered caskets of daughters and sons.
Great is the cost, through lives that are lost.
We we’ll gratefully remember each one.

Stand proud, stand tall, with hand over heart,
with respect for this flag that we love.
May this land always be, strong and free,
and protected by God from above.

God Bless America!!

3rd November 2013

I am thankful for friends! For the new and the old!

I had great friends during High School, a whole group of them! We were all different and we belonged to all different churches but together we stayed strong, supported each other, and kept our values high. I don't think I could of made it through those years without them. I love you guys!!

I have always made great friends at my jobs too! Kendall has always been a great friend through the thick and thin of things. I am so grateful you choose me for your maid of honor for your wedding last year. I wish I could have been living closer to help more but everything was fabulous at the end and you made a fabulous bride.

Jolene is a new friend and has been a fabulous listener. I miss being able to tell my mom everything and see her everyday but Jo has been there to listen. I am thankful that I have a great friend at Upper Valley Vet Clinic who can let me vent and share my craziness.

I met some new friends this weekend! I had a photo shoot with Haleigh's roommates on Saturday. They were fantastic and so willing!! We had so much fun all afternoon. Thank you girls for being such sports and having so much fun.

2nd of November

So sadly I am already behind on my thankful days!! I have a pretty good reason though...which I will get to later.

2nd November 2013

I am extremely thankful for the technology of our time. It is so extremely easy for us to pick up our little devices and call our parents, to send pictures to our sisters, to share the gospel, to send a letter to someone in a different nation and much, much more. How easy is it for us to get to different places to see others. I feel like a lot of people take this for granted.

Even just to when I was little and needed to be home at a certain time. I didn't have a phone in my pocket that was cordless to call her and i definitely did not have an iPad to facetime her with.

How did mothers do it and know if their children were safe or if they were coming home on time? We make fun of this sometimes but I do understand why parents give their little children cell phones. It helps tremendously when they need to know where their child is or when they need to pick them up.
I love that even though I am in Idaho I can still talk and see my mom when she lives six hours away.

         Baby Cousin Kylee

I love that I get to see my baby cousins and niece though they live in different states.

                  Baby Cousin Violet

I love that we can coordinate schedules though we are in two different places.

                 Baby Cousin Roman

I love that I can share my life here to people I don't get to talk to very often but they can still know how I am doing.

                         Baby 2nd Cousin Olivia

I love that even though I am actually a shy person I can still share the gospel in different ways to help others come unto Christ.

Baby 2nd Cousin Luke with his Sisters

I love our time and age to be on this planet. I hope that you don't regret your life.

                        My Baby Niece Lilly

I hope that you live everyday to it's fullest. Don't take the little things like your cell phone for granted. I am thankful for technology.

1st of November

It is November!! My goal this month is to post something I am thankful for everyday. I tried this last year and sadly, I failed miserably. So here we go again. I challenge each of you to try too! Makes you think of something every day to be thankful for and makes the whole month more pleasant.

1st of November 2013

I am so grateful for the creation of nature. God's own artwork all around us. How amazing that we get to not only see it but live within it. I especially love fall! Who else would of thought of the leaves turning bseautiful colors right before they fall off the branches!?!  So yes I am terribly thankful for the nature around us.

Whenever I hear the song of a bird
Or look at the blue, blue sky,
Whenever I feel the rain on my face
Or the wind as it rushes by,
Whenever I touch a velvet rose
Or walk by our lilac tree,
I’m glad that I live in this beautiful world
Heav’nly Father created for me.

The supreme beauty of the natural world reminds us of the power and perfection of God. When we are in nature, feelings of hope, peace, and reverence come to us through the Spirit. In nature we can see the handiwork of the perfect Artist. For centuries mankind has tried to emulate the handiwork of God. No human, however, has been able to match the perfect artistry of the Lord. Sometimes I wonder if God created the earth as He did to give us a small taste of what is in store for us in the future. If this earth can be so astoundingly beautiful, what must the renewed and perfected earth look like?
