So I was looking at our (free) couches and thought that they needed a little update. I began by vacuuming out the inside of the couch and to my surprise, the little girls who previously owned the couch had left us a couple of gifts; a princess ring, a poptart, gummy wrapper, and a pink pen.Of course there was some things from us like Jaren's Taco Bell receipts.
Vacuuming everything out of both couches seemed to take longer than I thought because all of Holly's hair. Man can that dog shed or what. You think that having a bath almost every week would help keep the hair down but nope it is everywhere!
So after putting the inside of the couch back together, I decided that I had some fabric to use to make some new pillows!
I also found some corduroy fabric at the DI to bring even more variety to my pillows. I think they are pretty cute and more modern looking but than again I made them.
I even found some cheap chevron fabric at a fabric site and was able to get enough for four of the bigger pillows. It was pretty easy using the stuffing from the original pillows it was just like putting on a new cover for them all.
Then I also trimmed off the fabric on the bottom of the couches. I really liked the color and was hoping it would be everywhere but its only in certain spots so thats only as far as I could go.... Maybe one day I can reupholster the rest of the couch.
Once again, I want to thank Allison and Rick Mohler for their great donation to us! They gave us our two couches and the coffee table without payment. Before we got the couches, we were using our bench seats from our van as couches so we much appreciate the gift!! And Holly loves them too since she can't seem to stay off them!
THANK YOU!!
